Gunshot Killing and Immediate Arrest

REDDING -Police made an immediate arrest in a gunshot killing last Friday.

Just after 6:00 pm the TPD received calls from motorists reporting a shooting. The incident occurred near Clear Creek Road.

Deputies from the SCSO also responded to take over the investigation. They found 37-year-old Joseph Jehonathan Gill in a field, dead from “apparent multiple gunshot wounds.”

They helf the shooter on scene – 47-year-old Brady Evan Schumacher. Witnesses identified him as the shooter.

Apparently “Gill and Schumacher know each other.”  However, investigators do not know the motive behind the shooting at this time.

Schumacher was ultimately arrested for 187 PC, Murder and booked into the Shasta County Jail.
