Habitual Criminal Arrested with Stolen Car

CORONA – On Tuesday night 27-year-old Manuel Lua was arrested by members of the Gang Task Force for several felony charges.

The investigation began in relation to a stolen car parked at a motel in the 200 block of N. Lincoln Avenue. Detectives connected the stolen vehicle to Lua, who was staying in the motel.

It had been stolen 11 days previous. Lua had an outstanding warrant out on him already for stolen property.

Once authorities entered Lua’s room, they discovered numerous drivers licenses, ID cards, passports, checks and other equipment associated with identity theft.

Lua was booked for felon in possession of a firearm, receiving stolen property, identity theft, possession of a con trolled substance, possession of burglary tools and being a habitual criminal, with bail set at $250,000.
