Domestic Violence Incident Ends Peacefully

CHICO – 41-year-old David Arkos left a medical facility on Wednesday morning, threatening to “go kill his wife.” Shortly thereafter a 911 call came in from Arkos’ wife stating that he had broke into her house.

Arkos was currently under a restraining order that kept him from being near his wife, who also reported during the call that he had battered her while threatening her.

Officers arrived and the victim as able to leave her house.  Arkos, however, barricaded himself in the house and a Butte County Behavioral Health Department Mobile Crisis Team member was called to assist in peacefully resolving the escalating situation.

Without any success in coaxing Arkos out of the house of his own will, the CPD then broke into the front door of the house. Arkos immediately complied and was arrested and charged with domestic violence, violation of a restraining order, burglary and criminal threats.
