Abram Ambriz Medrano was arrested on the night of 02/19/2018 for attempted homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon. Around 9PM, a domestic dispute between Medrano, a woman he was dating, and another adult female unfolded at a residence on the 1600 block of North Mooney in Visalia.

Medrano brandished a handgun and fired once in the direction of the two women. Fortunately, no one was physically injured by the bullet.

Medrano ran from the scene only to return about an hour later. This time, he was met by a woman who had armed herself with a rifle. As Medrano attempted to strong arm the weapon away from her, the rifle went off. The bullet struck a second woman in another room. She feared for her safety and in defense, the first female fired the rifle at Medrano.

When police and first responders arrived, Medrano was treated for minor injuries due to being struck by bullet fragments. The female victim was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The 47-year old is being held at the Tulare County Jail with bail set at over a million dollars.
