FORT BRAGG // The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 33-year-old man for felony domestic violence after being contacted by the victim on January 24th.

Just before 11:30 AM, Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputies spoke with a 60-year-old woman who alleged she had been assaulted by 33-year-old Michael Trapper at their home on the 31000 block of Camille Drive. The two were romantically involved, according to reports.

Deputies determined that somewhere around January 20th, the two had gotten into a verbal argument which eventually escalated when Trapper began physically assaulting her with his hands and feet. The victim reportedly had injuries consistent with her allegations.

On January 24th, just after 12 PM, deputies arrived at the couple’s home and spoke with Trapper, noting that he had injuries to his hands that were also consistent with the victim’s account.

Trapper was ultimately arrested for felony domestic battery and booked into the Mendocino County Jail, with bail set to $25,000.
