SAN BERNARDINO – A robbery was attempted on January 10 at a pawn shop at 2601 E. Highland Ave. around 1:00 pm.

Two people entered the shop and threw a device similar to a Molotov cocktail into the business and then began firing guns inside.  Employees of the shop then returned gunfire, and the device caught a display case on fire.

Two individuals inside the store suffered burns, and a third person suffered gunshot wounds. The gunshot victim, who later died at a hosiptal from his wounds,  was identified as Jason Cullen.

The two robbery suspects left the scene in a vehicle and soon crashed near the freeway.  They fled the car into an apartment complex.

Further investigation, including the retrieval and identification of DNA, resulted in the revelation of both suspect’s identities.

23-year-old Iovonn Flowers was arrested on January 20.  28-year-old Brandon Hall was arrested after crossing the border into Nevada on January 21.  Homicide charges are pending, as are possible additional charges.
