Career Criminal Auto Theft Team (CCATT) detectives were watching a 1997 Honda Civic parked on Fourth and Madison previously reported stolen from Northwest Fresno on Wednesday, January 10th. They tailed the car when the driver, 19-year old Alejandrino Monjarez of Sanger, began driving.

Around Cedar and Alta, Monjarez noticed the detectives closing in and crashed into two CCATT cars as he attempted to get away, showing no signs of stopping or slowing.

Scene where the chase ended

Monjarez then tried to jump out of the moving vehicle, lost his footing, and clung on to the driver side door for 15-20 feet while the car advanced forward. He continued his attempt to flee on foot but did not make it far before being taken down and arrested.

The Bulldog Gang member is charged with auto theft and resisting arrest.
