Third Suspect in Connection with Madera Murder Arrested in Las Vegas

Jorge Murillo, Khalid Ramsey and James Ridge

Latisha Logan turned 37-years old on June 25, 2017. On June 26, she was shot and killed. Ms. Logan was staying at her boyfriend’s Westgater Apartment, located on 701 North Granada Drive in Madera when she answered a knock at the door.

Upon answering, she was shot and died at the scene. Police issued arrest warrants for three suspects in connection with the murder.

In July, 20-year old Jorge Murillo and 18-year old Khalid Ramsey were arrested. The third suspect, 22-year old James Ridge, remained on the run until September 23rd.

Las Vegas Police, along with other Nevada and Arizona Police Departments, had previously been alerted that Ridge may be in their jurisdiction. While responding to a domestic violence call, a Las Vegas police officer spotted Ridge at the scene and arrested him.

At least one of the suspects was familiar with Ms. Logan. Sgt. Mark Trukke of the Madera Police Department stated, “It wasn’t random. There are several motives we are looking at but it is active and we are looking into different clues.” He also added this was not a gang-related incident.

Ms. Logan leaves behind four teenage children and a grieving family. Transportation to the Madera Department of Corrections is being arranged for Ridge. In the meantime, he remains in the custody of Clark County Jail in Nevada.
