Five month theft investigation leads to Angel’s arrest

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into a series of thefts and subsequently made an arrest –

“In late February of 2020 the Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft by a former employee of the Hitching Post in Awhanhee. MCSO Detectives began investigating the incident.

The suspect was identified as 62-year-old Angel Anderson. Through investigation it was learned that the alleged thefts occurred throughout September 2019 to February 2020 while Ms. Anderson was an employee of the Hitching Post.

On July 8th a an arrest warrant was issued by the Madera County Superior Court for Ms. Anderson.

On July 9th, MCSO Deputies contacted Ms. Anderson near her home in Madera County and placed her under arrest without incident.

Ms. Anderson was booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections for a felony violation of Grand Theft.

Her bail was set at $50,000. Bail has been met and she was subsequently released
