Fast-Food Robbery Frenzy in OC, Over 20 Hits In 2 Weeks

ORANGE COUNTY — Law enforcement is on the alert for a fast-food robber responsible for a string of over 20 robberies at gunpoint over the past few weeks. Last night, two more hits occurred in the cities of Orange and Santa Ana near 9:00 PM.

Fountain Valley Police stated that in each case, the unidentified male suspect is described as 35 years of age, medium-skin complexion, approximately 6′, 210 pounds and displays a black handgun. His short dark hair is sometimes concealed by a dark-colored wig. At times wearing a cap and dark glasses, he has tattoos by his left ear as well as his front and back collarbone.

The pattern includes robberies between the hours of noon and 10 PM. The suspect brandishes a gun and hands a note demanding money. He quickly leaves with currency.

Last night, the man handed a cash-demand note to a Pizza Hut cashier at 8:20 PM on 2003 W. First Street in Santa Ana. Police reported that he displayed the handgun at his waist.

At 8:42 PM, a Subway at 2309 W. Chapman Avenue in Orange reported the same man with the same routine. Orange Police state that the suspect fled on foot with cash.

County-wide law enforcement authorities say that the robberies appear to be related. Locations include Subway, Roasting Waters, KFC, Del Taco, Jack in the Box, El Pollo Loco, Pizza Hut, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, and Chipotle. He is also suspected in the same type of hit at CN Wireless in Garden Grove.

The suspect wears thick, sometimes dark glasses, and flees on foot. He has escaped the pursuit of a Huntington Beach police helicopter.
