SANTA ROSA — On April 9th at around 8 AM, officers spoke with local transient Antoine Webb in the area of 11th and Cleveland regarding a theft that had occurred last week.

Webb initially gave a false name and then became combative when officers tried to cuff him. He also led them on a short foot pursuit, during which one of the officers sustained a knee injury while jumping over a fence.

Other officers soon arrived and established a perimeter.

Alert residents began calling to report seeing Webb in and around the backyards of multiple homes, which gave officers enough information to close in and make an arrest.

Webb is in custody on charges of falsely identifying himself to an officer, resisting arrest, and suspicion of felony vandalism.

According to Santa Rosa PD in an official press release, the injured officer is set to make a full recovery.
