LOS BANOS — On April 2nd just after 3 AM, officers arrived on the 2800 block of Pacheco Boulevard to investigate reports of fuel theft.
They began with checking a business in the area only to discover 34-year-old Paul Glaser of La Maradia hiding in the bushes. Officers noted several plastic gas containers and a plastic hose in his possession, as well as several other containers near commercial vehicles parked at the business.
Glaser was handcuffed and placed in a patrol car. Meanwhile, officers continued checking the area and ran across 41-year-old Marcus Glaser of La Maradia also hiding in the bushes. Marcus was less cooperative and had to be pulled from the bushes before being cuffed.
A vehicle registered to the suspects was found near the business and officers noted evidence that the two had been trying to fill their own car with stolen gas.
Both were formally arrested and charged with theft and conspiracy to commit a crime.
