‘Shots Fired’ at 3 AM Leads to Arrest

Anthony Marquis Wyatt

FRESNO — It was no April Fools’ early on Saturday morning when the FPD received a ‘shots fired’ call in a parking lot of an apartment complex at 2255 S. Plumas.

Two officers arrived and began a foot search. They encountered and made contact with someone standing in the parking lot, wearing a red sweatshirt.

The individual ran when he saw the officers, clutching the front pocket of his sweatshirt as he fled.

However, “marked patrol units were rolling in from the opposite direction” (FPD).  The suspect tried to turn back but was headed off by police, at which point both man and sweatshirt were detained.

30-year-old Anthony Marquis Wyatt turned out to be on parole and therefore open to be searched.  The search revealed a loaded .40 Glock in his pocket.

Wyatt, a gang member on parole for possession of a firearm, was arrested and booked for possession of a stolen firearm and violating his parole, among other charges.
