Hit-and-Run Driver Does the Right Thing

LOS ANGELES — On Tuesday afternoon, 5-year-old Ronald O’Neal III lost his life.  His was struck by an older green Chevy that was apparently travelling faster than the posted 25 mph speed limit.

O’Neal was hit in front of his home near 82nd and Towne and died at the hospital. The motorist did not stop.

The next afternoon, according to the victim’s family members, 19-year-old Homer Watford came to their home to apologize for the tragedy before he turned himself in to police, where he was then charged for felony hit and run.

Apparently Watford had been stopped on March 2nd for driving with a suspended license.
