35 Years to Life for Home Burglary

LOS ANGELES — 51-year-old Robert Andrew Rodriguez finally received his sentence for a home invasion burglary after being found guilty for the crime on December 1, 2016.

It all began on December 14, 2015, when Rodriguez broke into a home in El Monte. The female homeowner and her daughter encountered him and he threatened to kill her.

Her husband and son also came to her aid. Rodriguez fled but was arrested the next day.

Rodriguez had previously been convicted of assault with a deadly weapon in 2001 and 2006.

On Monday, March 6, 2017, he was sentenced to 35 years to life in prison.
