UPDATE: Police Arrest Chop Shop Suspect

HOLLISTER — Police have arrested 34-year-old Felix Casillas for attempting to run officers down after his illegal chops hop on College Street came under investigation on Wednesday, December 1st.

Police were already in the area investigation the chop shop when Casillas arrived in his car. He got out and began yelling, only to realize he was, in fact, yelling at police officers instead of ordinary citizens. That was when he got back into his car and drove towards them.

Officers already in the alley when Casillas drove in ordered him to stop but he continued on. Most officers were able to move out of the way, although one sustained a minor injury.

Hollister Police and CHP gave chase, and Casillas pulled over and abandoned his vehicle. He ran for a short distance before giving himself up and being arrested without incident.

Casillas was booked into the San Benito County Jail for various charges including assault with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
