24,000+ Marijuana Plants Destroyed

LAKE COUNTY – In the past two weeks the Lake County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit discovered two separate marijuana grow sites near the Napa county line.

A hunter came upon one of the grows and contacted authorities, who in turn discovered complex drip irrigation systems drawing from springs in the area.

The two operations consisted of a single-person camp. The exact total of marijuana plants reached 24,540.

Within the Butts Canyon area, sheriff’s have destroyed 41,883 marijuana plants so far this year.  Within the entirety of Lake County, 310,000 plants have been eradicated so far this year.
