Investigation into Kelseyville Burglaries Results in Two Arrests and Recovered Property
KELSYVILLE, CA — A coordinated law enforcement investigation into a series of commercial burglaries in Kelseyville resulted in the arrest of two Clearlake residents and the recovery of stolen property belonging to multiple victims.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office initiated the investigation on Sept. 7, 2026, following a report that a utility vehicle belonging to Nichols Tree Service was broken into, resulting in stolen tools and damaged equipment. On Sept. 15, management at Kelseyville Auto Wreckers reported multiple burglaries at their commercial facility. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit and the Community Oriented Policing and Targeted Restoration Unit subsequently initiated surveillance operations, linking vehicles observed in surveillance footage to a residential address in Clearlake.
On Sept. 25, a patrol deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle observed leaving Kelseyville Auto Wreckers after business hours without operational headlights. A search of the vehicle yielded a catalytic converter, a car jack, and fuses believed to be stolen from the business, alongside fraudulent identification, Social Security, and EBT cards belonging to other individuals. Responding personnel arrested Jose Alfredo Bucio-Carillo, 23, and Francisco Sanchez, 27, on charges involving burglary and identity theft. Sanchez was also booked on an outstanding warrant.
On Oct. 1, detectives executed a search warrant at the Clearlake residence connected to the suspects. Investigators recovered fraudulent checkbooks, property stolen from Nichols Tree Service, and approximately 95 tires confirmed stolen from Kelseyville Auto Wreckers. The recovered tools and tires were returned to the respective businesses. Following the warrant execution, Bucio-Carillo received additional charges involving stolen property and intent to defraud.
