Two Suspects Arrested for Utility Theft

BAKERSFIELD — A pair of Bakersfield men were arrested on Friday for allegedly stealing power from a local oilfield business.

Leslie Bernabe, 46, and 54-year-old Harrald Samarco, both from Bakersfield, were booked into the Kern County Jail for one count of theft of utility services.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of utility theft from a local oilfield business in the 1600 block of Melody Lane in Bakersfield on Friday, November 13.

When they arrived, deputies said they witnessed that the business where the stolen utilities were be taken was being used at a nearby residence.

Detectives conducted a search of the residence and arrested Bernabe and Samarco for the theft of utilities. Deputies said they also found two additional subjects inside the residence who had active warrants for their arrest.

Rosa Carillo, 21, was booked into the Kern County Jail on an open charges for being under the influence of a controlled substance and failure to appear, while 38-year-old Tyler Fuller, was booked on one open count of disorderly conduct.
