Cocaine Conspirator Captured

The San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office arrested another person involved in the cocaine ring that was busted up by them earlier this month.

According to the Sheriff’s office, Alexander Allan Matarese, 31, of Cayucos was captured at his residence on Ocean Avenue last Friday around 5:30 p.m.

Initially, Matarese had a warrant out for his arrest since August 7 of this year, when members of the Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit shut down a major cocaine distribution organization that was operating in San Luis Obispo County.

The sheriff’s office seized more than five kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of more than $200,000. At that time, eight people were arrested and an arrest warrant was issued for the ninth suspect in the case, Matarese.

Alexander Matarese was charged with felony conspiracy to commit a crime, felony transportation and sale of a controlled substance, and felony possession of a controlled substance for sale.
