Police Hunt Three Attempted Murder Suspects

BAKERSFIELD — Authorities are searching for three men wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred in Bakersfield last Tuesday that left a husband, his pregnant wife and their unborn child fighting for their lives.

Anthony Rios, 22, along with 21-year-old James Rios and 24-year-old Anthony Sanchez, all from Bakersfield, are being sought by homicide detectives on three counts of attempted murder.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Department, on Tuesday, May 5, deputies were dispatched to the 3100 block of Monterey Street in Bakersfield at about 4 p.m. regarding a shooting.

When they arrived, deputies said they found two victims, 34-year-old Mario Bravo Jr. and his 33- year-old wife, Adrianna Bravo, both apparently shot in the front yard of their residence after a confrontation with two of the suspects.

Mario was shot numerous times in the upper torso while attempting to shield his eight and a half month pregnant wife, who was shot in the lower hip.

The unborn baby boy was also struck in the head by a bullet, but is in stable condition at Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, after being delivered at the Kern Medical Center shortly after the shooting.

UPDATE – Anthony Sanchez was arrested in Brawley on Saturday night.  He was booked on a no-bail warrant.
