Police received a tip that Jesus Sanchez was the thief. Detectives searched his home on Saturday, but did not locate the gun. However, Sanchez admitted to taking the gun and took a picture of himself with it, authorities said.

Police are also investigating a robbery of the same store that happened last Thursday morning. Two armed men ran into the store with guns drawn, held the owner and a customer at gunpoint, and filled a pillowcase with 13 of the store’s firearms, police said.

The suspects knocked an 85-year-old man from a neighboring store to the concrete as they rushed out. The man was critically injured in the fall and is currently at Community Regional Medical Center.

The suspects in that case are described as being two African-American men, who left in a white Cadillac sedan.
