Woman Shoots Husband, Turns Herself In

A Woodland resident reportedly shot her husband and then called 911 to report it, according to an official press release from the Woodland Police Department.

Susan Hoskins, 59, of Woodland, was reportedly booked into the Yolo County Jail for violation of Penal Code 187(a), related to domestic violence under Penal Code 13700.

According to Woodland PD, on Sunday, August 3 at about 9:53 pm, the department received a 911 call from Hoskins, who said she had just shot her husband. Officers were reportedly dispatched to Hoskins’ residence at 607 Knollwood Drive and found her standing on the home’s front porch. She was reportedly cooperative and taken into custody.

Officers reportedly asked for medical personnel, who were staged in the immediate area, to enter and begin treating the victim, Bryan Morris Hoskins, 60. He reportedly died of his injuries at the scene.

Hoskins was taken to the Woodland Police Department, where she was interviewed by detectives before being transported to Yolo County Jail.
