Neighbor Jailed for Burglary After Victims See Security Footage

A Pleasanton family whose home was burglarized last month installed security cameras to catch future intruders.

It turns out they didn’t have to go far to catch the first one. While reviewing surveillance footage they noticed something peculiar about a neighbor who could be seen walking in front of their home: she was wearing clothing taken from the break-in. The family called police, who served a search warrant to 39-year-old Sormeh Zupan’s residence. Investigators found nearly all the property stolen from the family, which Zupan had used to furnish and decorate her own home, said investigators.

Dressing up is not unfamiliar to Ms. Zupan. She has promoted herself as a model on onemodelplace.com. And according to her LinkedIn profile, she is also a computer and network security professional.

Zupan was booked into the Santa Rita jail on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property.
