Bungling Dixon Burglars Nabbed; One Brought An Infant

A burglary interrupted by the owner of a rural Dixon ranch led to the arrests of a pair of suspects on the night of December 10.

Solano County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call about 5pm from a resident of a ranch in the 8300 block of Pedrick Road reporting a burglary in progress on the property.  The caller said when he arrived home, he observed the two men — Joseph Paul McGraw, 34, of Dixon, and 37-year-old Dean Forrest French, of Vacaville — inside his workshop. They were moving articles of property inside the shop.

The resident detained McGraw, but French got away. The deputies called in Dixon PD officers for assistance. They arrested McGraw and caught French on foot about half a mile from the scene of the crime.

During their investigation, the authorities ascertained that McGraw had driven his truck to the burgled property, accompanied by his infant son. Deputies contacted Child Protective Services (CPS), who took care of the baby.

Both men were lodged in Solano County Jail; McGraw may face further charges of child endangerment.
