The incident began when the two suspects, 22-year-old Gabriel Anthony Sauceda and 20-year-old Chad Alexander Walker, stole some beer from a Santa Ana gas station.

The clerk saw them enter an Embassy Suites hotel and called police. Working with hotel management, officers went to the suspects’ room on the 10th floor.

But the young men had climbed out of a window, and were scaling down the building by jumping from balcony to balcony, police said.

Both were caught and arrested on suspicion of burglary. Sauceda broke his leg in several places, according to reports.
