A 22-year-old Napa woman and a 25-year-old American Canyon man were arrested Monday after police allege they were hitting each other in a fight in the vicinity of Adrian Street and Central Avenue in Napa.
Emily Marie Fahey was held on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury, while David James McCarthy was taken into custody on suspicion of resisting arrest and obstruction after the 2:37 p.m. incident.
Police said officers were dispatched to a report of an assault that occurred in the 800 Block of Central Avenue.
Upon arrival, David McCarthy and his girlfriend, Emily Fahey, were contacted.
Fahey confessed that they were in an argument and after McCarthy threw her cell phone, she picked it up and hit him in the back of the head with it, causing a laceration.
He started to walk away from her, but he was bleeding badly and his knees buckled and he fell to the ground.
