Eureka Man Caught Red-Handed Vandalizing Patrol Car

The patrol car was parked in front of this Sheriff's Office

Vincent Sanchez, 27, of Eureka was arrested on Friday, February 8, as he was caught red-handed leaving his marks on the cars on 4th Street in Eureka.

According to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s reports, a deputy witnessed Sanchez kicking the passenger window of an unoccupied marked patrol car which was parked right in front of the Sheriff’s Office. Seeing that he was noticed, Sanchez ran off. The deputy, who was then joined by two other deputies, chased Sanchez down the street and finally detained him near I St and 8th Street. Sanchez was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for vandalism and resisting arrest with his bail set at $25,000.

The police later learned that the patrol car was not the only car Sanchez damaged. He is reported to have damaged six more cars in the same area.
