Registered Sex Offender Arrested on Molestation Charges

Deputies from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a known registered sex offender on child molestation charges, according to an official press release.

On Monday, December 3, 2012, at 4:30 pm, the Sheriff’s Office was reportedly called to an apartment off Cimmarron Road in Cameron Park by a mother reporting she had caught an acquaintance in the act of molesting her child.

Deputies that responded to the scene made contact with the mother and from their investigation identified the suspect as Jeffrey Michael Ellsworth, a known registered sex offender. Ellsworth, a transient living in the Cameron Park area, had reportedly fled from the apartment complex prior to the arrival of deputies, but was later tracked down to an unrelated address off Oak Hill Road in the Pleasant Valley area.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, Ellsworth was booked in the El Dorado County Jail on felony charges of child molestation.
