Ben Lomond Man Arrested in Drug Raid

BEN LOMOND—Mitra Osho Orescan, 22, of Ben Lomond was arrested at his home on Saturday night after Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputies found methamphetamines, heroin and a stolen assault rife in his home.

At about 11 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies served a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation related to the sale of drugs coming from the rural residence on the 9700 block of Live Oak Avenue.

During the search, deputies found 30 grams of methamphetamines that were packaged for sale.  They also found seven grams of heroin along with some cash and other items consistent for the sale of narcotics.  They also found a stolen Springfield SOCOM II M1A assault rifle and numerous rounds of ammunition.

Deputies arrested Orescan at his home and charged with possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of narcotics for sale, felon in possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, receiving stolen property and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.

“Orescan is a known felon and has been convicted for drug charges in the past,” Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department Deputy April Skalland said. “The assault rifle was stolen out of Santa Cruz County.”

Orescan was booked in the Santa Cruz County Jail and his bail has been set at $95,000.

This incident is part of an ongoing investigation and the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information about this case to call them at 831-454-2440.
