Transient Arrested for Lewd Act with Minor

FELTON—The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 20-year-old transient who moved to the rural coastal town from Tennessee after it was reported that he had sexual intercourse with a minor.

Alexander Pollack

On Wednesday night at around 7:22 p.m. the family of the 13-year-old girl confronted Alexander Lynn Pollack, 20, at the Quick Stop on Highway 9 in Felton after they had learned about the lewd act.  The Sheriff’s Department was called to the scene after a heated confrontation ensued.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Pollack and charged him with a lewd or lascivious act with a child under the age of 14.  Police believe that he befriended the 13-year old girl at the Felton Faire Shopping Center, which is just off Graham Hill Road in Felton. “Kids like to go there and just hang out,” Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Department Deputy April Skalland said.

Authorities learned that the couple had met a few time before but on this occasion Pollack offered to drive the 13-year-old female home and while enroute to her house he stopped at the high school and had sexual intercourse with the juvenile.

“Even though he did not attack her and everything was consensual,” Skalland added, “she is only13-years-old and does not have the ability to give consent. “

Sheriff’s deputies believe that there could be other victims that have not come forward.  Pollack frequents the Felton Faire Shopping Center in his red Toyota with a license plate number B1625P.  Pollack was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail and his bail has been set at $50,000.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is asking that if anyone has information to please contact them at 831-471-1121 or 1-831-454-2311.
