“Most Wanted” Molester’s Accomplice Arrested
Santa Barbara – Pursuant to the dramatic “Most Wanted” 18-year pursuit and eventual recapture of Jeffrey Parish who eluded Santa Barbara authorities since his initial arrest on charges of child molestation in 1994, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Drew Sugars reported today that a second arrest has been made.
Luis Procopio Urbina
Luis Procopio Urbina, 43, a Guatemalan citizen residing in Santa Barbara, was arrested on July 17th by Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Felony Fugitive Unit and FBI agents on suspicion of helping Parish elude authorities after jumping his 1994 bail and fleeing to Guatemala.
“From 2005 through 2011, Urbina sent large amounts of money to Parish via Western Union,” Sugars reported to the media, further describing Urbina as a personal caretaker for Parish’s 90-year-old mother in Santa Barbara. According to Sugars, Urbina maintains personal family contacts in Guatemala and helped Parish and his mother continue to communicate on a regular basis via email.
