Commercial Burglar Snagged by SLOPD

San Luis Police officers arrested a man for allegedly breaking into a local smoke shop on Wednesday. According to police, officers were dispatched around 5:50 a.m. to 871 Santa Rosa, Wild Side Smoke Shop, to the report of a male standing by the business next to a broken window.

When they arrived on scene police saw the suspect and attempted to contact him. The suspect fled from them, but after a short foot pursuit the male was captured without further incident.

According to investigators, the suspect was in possession of property that was stolen from the business. Police say there was also evidence located at the scene linking the suspect to the crime.

The suspect Shawn William Shinkle-Miller, 19, of San Luis Obispo was arrested for burglary and resisting arrest. He was suspect was booked into county jail.
