Fairfield police investigate robbery and shooting

Fairfield Police are investigating an attempted robbery and a shooting that occured Wednesday night.

East Tabor Ave. was the scene of the robbery and shooting

According to the Daily Republic, at around 9:35 p.m., a man approached four victims with a handgun on the 300 block of East Tabor Avenue, said Lt. Steve Crane, Fairfield Police. The suspect then demanded personal property from the victims.

According to a press release from the Fairfield Police Department, one of the victims was a 21-year-old Fairfield resident. The victim ran from the scene, but was chased by the suspect, who struck the victim with his gun. The victim managed to run away once more, but the suspect shot at the victim, grazing him in the head. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is still at large. According to a press release, he is described as a black male  approximately 24-26 years old, with ear length dreadlocks and approximately 5 foot 10 inches tall. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Officer Cleo Mayoral, (707) 580-1067, cmayoral@fairfield.ca.gov.
