High School Gridiron Flasher Hunted Down

May 16 – Goleta

The Dos Pueblos High School football field was the site of a bizarre game of “Hey, look at this!” when Jonathan Ruben Mendoza, 20, exposed himself to a gaggle of teen coeds in the middle of the school day.  Mendoza, whose pigskin playbook received a cool reception from onlookers, fled the scene immediately thereafter as the young females reacted by calling 911 Emergency to report the incident.

According to Drew Sugars, Santa Barbara County Sheriff Public Information Officer, “Goleta Police units responded immediately and began a search of the surrounding neighborhood.”  With a number of corroborating witness statements taken at the school, Mendoza was identified as the suspect, which led deputies to contact him at his nearby residence.

“He was arrested without incident,” Sugars reported to the media, adding that Mendoza “was found to be in felony possession of a concealed dagger”.

Pursuant to further investigation and witness statements, Mendoza was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of indecent exposure and felony possession of an illegal weapon with bail set at $20,000.
