Home invasion leaves elderly woman without car on Valentine's Day

Vacaville police are searching for a car thief that got away with a Toyota Camry belonging to an elderly woman on Tuesday.

According to the Daily Republic, the man entered a home located on the 200 block of Somerville Drive at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. An elderly woman inside the house asked the man why he was in the home. At that time the man asked for the keys to her Toyota Camry that was in the driveway of the home. Though the elderly woman refused, he found a pair of keys within the home and stole the vehicle. No injury was reported from the incident.

Vacaville police are in search of the suspect for home invasion and car theft. Additionally, a Honda Pilot SUV was left in the driveway of the home. Martinez police are reporting a similar crime that also occurred on Tuesday, according to the Daily Republic.

The suspect is described as a black man, between 25 and 35 years old, medium build, and around 6 feet tall. He was reported to have been wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt during the incident.
