Fresno authorities looking for stabbing suspect

Willie Keith Thompson

FRESNO — The Fresno County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a Fresno man suspected of being involved in a stabbing Thursday morning.

Shortly after 4:30 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon at an apartment complex located in the 300 block of S. Argyle Avenue. Upon arrival, deputies found a male victim who had been stabbed and was bleeding badly, according to the sheriff’s department.

An ambulance was called and the victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery. He is currently in serious but stable condition, according to the sheriff’s department. The victim has not yet been identified.

The sheriff’s department’s investigation revealed that the stabbing occurred inside of 20-year-old Willie Keith Thompson’s apartment as a result of a disturbance, said Chris Curtice, spokesperson for the sheriff’s department. Thompson fled the scene before the deputies arrived.

Thompson is already wanted on “formal felony probation,” Curtice said, and is now wanted for assault with a deadly weapon.

The sheriff’s department is asking for the public’s help in finding Thompson. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-6 and 120 pounds. He has short black hair and brown eyes. Thompson has several tattoos: “loved by few” on his right forearm; “hated by most” on his left forearm; “Thompson” on his back; and “Corinna” on his chest.

Anyone who knows Thompson’s whereabouts, or has any other information regarding this case, is asked to contact the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office at (559) 488-3111, or CrimeStoppers at (559) 498-STOP (7867).
