A Fresno County man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that resulted in a pedestrian’s death.
According to a press release by Fresno Police Department, officers responded to a hit-and-run incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Chestnut Avenue and Clinton Avenue on Thursday, April 4.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical responders.
Video evidence reviewed by detectives revealed that the suspect vehicle struck the pedestrian, made a U-turn, and passed the scene again before fleeing. Following investigation by the Collision Reconstruction and Hit-and-Run Units, the vehicle and driver were identified and located on April 9.
The driver, identified as Miguel Ortiz Montilla of Fresno, was arrested and booked into Fresno County jail on suspicion of hit-and-run resulting in injury or death.
