Selma cop indicted on child pornography charges

FRESNO – Selma police Officer Angel Landin was indicted at the Fresno federal court on Thursday on one count of receipt or distribution of child pornography. He is accused of making those images available on a file-sharing network.

Landin, 45, has been on administrative leave from the Selma Police Department since Aug. 19, when investigators with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security and the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at his home in Selma.

Investigators seized a computer with two user profile names, “Angel” and “Koplak,” and found eight child pornography videos depicting children as young as kindergarten age.

Landin was taken in for questioning on Oct. 7 and subsequently arrested. According to court records, Landin told investigators he is aroused by reading stories that involve father-daughter sexual involvement.

The court complaint against him says, “Landin also admitted to specifically searching LimeWire for files relating to incest and the internet to obtain incest stories.”

Landin and his wife have three children who live with them, according to court records.

Landin, who has been with the Selma Police Department for almost four years, faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
