UC Davis student suspected of attempted rape

DAVIS — Nineteen-year-old Pierce Hunter was arrested Thursday on the University of California, Davis campus on suspicion of attempted rape and forced oral copulation.

The UC Davis student was taken into custody on the morning of April 22, after the purported victim came forward to investigators some time over the preceding weekend. The alleged crimes reportedly took place prior to that weekend.

Police said Hunter lives off campus and had known his accuser.

Investigators believe there may be other victims. Anyone with information is asked to call (530) 752-6387.

No photos of the suspect were released as of Thursday afternoon, but a Facebook search for his name yielded the profile of a UCD student.
