SACRAMENTO — Homicide investigators are looking into two separate shooting murders that occurred less than three days apart in the Sacramento area.
A 35-year-old man was found lying dead of multiple gunshot wounds on his front lawn in the 4000 block of 32nd Street around 11:17 p.m. Saturday night. Nearly three days earlier, on Thursday morning, witnesses spotted three men running from the scene of a fatal shooting in the 3300 block of V Street.
The victim, whose name wasn’t released by the Sacramento Police Department, was a 47-year-old male found dead on the floor of his apartment around 8:16 a.m. Thursday.
Police haven’t indicated any connection between the two separate murders.
Reports of the Saturday shooting came in just after 11 p.m. Detectives have learned that a loud party was occurring in the same area of the shooting, but don’t yet know if there is a connection between the two.
According to a department release, witnesses said three black males in dark-hooded sweatshirts ran to a waiting gold-colored Chevrolet parked in an alleyway immediately after Thursday’s deadly shooting near 33rd and V streets. A fourth person was behind the wheel, though no further description was released. The three men who entered the vehicle were said to be in their 20s.
A motive for Thursday’s murder has not yet been determined.
