Man Arrested for Stabbing Wife to Death in San Juan Capistrano

A 51-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death in their home in San Juan Capistrano.

Several calls about a domestic disturbance at the residence, located in the 26000 block of Cedar Grove Court, prompted Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies to the scene of the crime at around 10:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.

When they arrived, they found a 45-year-old woman who had been stabbed several times. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police arrested a male suspect at the scene, identified as 51-year-old Sebastian Garcia Ramirez. His identity was released to the public after he received medical treatment and was booked into Orange County Jail.

Ramirez was charged with homicide and is being held on $1 million bail.

“The identification of the decedent is not being released at this time pending official identification and notification of next of kin by the Coroner,” according to the release. “Based on initial witness information, investigators believe there is no further threat to the community.”
