CORNING — Local police have confiscated a significant amount of marijuana following a traffic stop on the night of Friday, October 25th.

When officers attempted a traffic stop on a van for moving violations, the driver fled the vehicle while it was still in drive. Thankfully, officers were able to stop the van before it struck a power pole.

Unfortunately, the suspect had managed to successfully escape.

Officers searched the van and discovered approximately 400 pounds of marijuana, which was seized. The van was towed, and the suspect remains at large.
