SACRAMENTO – Multiple school threats were posted on Instagram on Monday February 25th. That night, a report came into the Sacramento Police Department that someone had posted the threats that included photos of various schools.

The messages said – “which school should I shoot up tmr,” “I’ve been wanting to do this school honestly this is my first target,” and “I’m going to pick a random school and whatever school I pick I’m placing a bomb where ever inside the school so be ready to run” (ending with  smiley face and knife emojis).

In all 100 calls came in concerning these threats, as detectives, dispatchers and other officers followed up on them.

The next day, at 3:00 am, SPD “detained a person of interest in this case.”  Further investigation led to the arrest of the suspect for making terrorist threats. He was only identified as a “male juvenile.”

Although no credible threat from this incident has been established, the investigation into it is ongoing.
