ANGELS CAMP – Their names are Hendryx and Hackmeier. On October 14 at 7:30 they tried to hack into construction site storage containers. This incident happened at the new Calaveras Human Society building on Highway 49.

A concerned citizen spotted them and called the CCSO. Then three deputies were quickly on scene.

A deputy saw 42-year-old Oakland resident Eric Hendryx manipulating the lock on the container. The deputy’s emergency lights caused the suspect to scatter.

Hendryx ran down a hill and entangled himself into some barbed wire. That is where the deputy apprehended him.

Back at the container, another deputy apprehended 44-year-old Valley Springs resident Jason Hackmeier.

The suspects drilled the locks on two containers and “stripped wire from the crawl space beneath the building.” Authorities estimate that the pair did $1,500 worth of damage there.

Both suspects had burglary tools, narcotics and paraphernalia in their possession.

Furthermore, it turns out Hendryx was out on bail from Alameda County, sporting an ankle monitor.

Finally, Hendryx and Hackimeier face multiple charges and a $45,000 bail.

For his part Hackmeier’s past includes an arrest for corporal injury on April 21, 2018. On March 3, 2017 he was arrested for stolen property, evasion, paraphernalia and a probation violation
