“On Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at about 4:55 pm, the San Bernardino Police Call Center received a 911 call regarding a shooting. Patrol officers were dispatched to the 1200 block N. Lugo Avenue and found the victim on-scene suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital but later died as a result of his injuries.
With the assistance of the community, detectives were able to identify James Edward Posey as a suspect related to the crime. On April 15th, 2022, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office charged Posey with murder, and on April 27th, 2022, Posey was taken into custody by federal officials in Memphis, Tennessee. Posey will be extradited from Memphis to San Bernardino where he will face the charge of murder.”
