Man uses Snapchat to set up drug sales to minors, arrested

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man who allegedly used Snapchat to sell drugs to minors.

Rancho Cucamonga learned about these drug sales taking place in July 2021, though the suspect was not known at the time.  After further investigation, the suspect was soon identified as 19-year-old Isaac Cano of Upland.  A search warrant was subsequently issued for Cano’s home.

Deputies caught Cano red-handed when they arrived at his residence, located in the 80th block of 9th Street, to serve the search warrant around 2pm on August 12th.  “Upon their arrival, deputies observed a drug sale transaction involving Cano take place,” according to the release.  “Deputies attempted to make contact with Cano. He fled on foot but was quickly discovered hiding under a vehicle nearby.”

Police successfully apprehended the suspect before searching his home.  Inside, they discovered “suspected fentanyl, several cannabis products, a digital scale, a loaded handgun, and a large amount of cash,” states the release.  Additionally, “A minor who resided in the home was found to have access to several of these items.“

Cano is being held on $175,000 bail at West Valley Detention Center for selling marijuana to a minor, child endangerment, and resisting arrest.
