Sacramento County: Suspect arrested in double stabbing that left one dead

Sacramento County deputies have arrested a man in connection to a recent stabbing that left one person dead and another in the hospital, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the 1400 block of Fulton Avenue on the afternoon of Thursday, January 14, after dispatch received a call that someone had been stabbed. At the scene, deputies found two men suffering from stab wounds, one of whom was later pronounced dead at an area hospital. The second victim has since been stabilized.

Detectives also responded to the scene and began gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, through which they were able to identify 38-year-old Mohammed Anwaribrah Musallam as the primary suspect.

Musallam has since been arrested and booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of murder. Investigators say they have yet to determine a motive. The identity of the deceased victim has also not been released.

The investigation remains active.
