Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Shooting Death in Macdoel
MACDOEL, CA — “On the evening of Saturday, September 26th, 2026 at approximately 7:28 pm, a Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Deputy responded to the report of a deceased person at a residence in Macdoel, CA. Upon arrival, the Deputy located a deceased adult male inside the residence and observed that he had sustained gunshot wounds.
Due to these findings, the Deputy contacted the SCSO Detectives Unit and initiated a criminal investigation. The victim has been positively identified as Michael Emmett Hurlburt, aged 63, of Macdoel, CA, and next of kin were notified.
The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating this case.
