Mendocino County Authorities Report Two Felony Warrant Arrests in Ukiah
UKIAH, CA — “On 09/09/2026 at approximately 07:25 A.M., Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were conducting an investigation at 145 Laws Avenue in Ukiah. This investigation led Sheriff’s Deputies to an apartment where they had information that Azaiah Zacarias was staying.
Sheriff’s Deputies knew Zacarias had a felony warrant signed for his arrest issued by the Mendocino County Superior Court. The felony warrant was issued for Zacarias violating the terms of his Post-Release Community Supervision per 3455(a) PC.
Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the apartment and knocked on the front door. While standing at the front door, a Sheriff’s Deputy noticed a figure moving near a sliding-glass door. The Sheriff’s Deputy went to the rear of the apartment where he located a subject wearing a black ski-mask while hanging from a balcony.
The Sheriff’s Deputy believed the subject to be Zacarias. The Sheriff’s Deputy ordered the subject to the ground and to remove the ski mask. The subject removed the ski mask at which time the Sheriff’s Deputy recognized Zacarias. Zacarias was taken into custody without further incident.
While at the apartment, Sheriff’s Deputies also recognized a female subject as Sierra Grinsell. Sheriff’s Deputies were aware Grinsell was also had a felony arrest warrant issued by the Mendocino County Superior Court. Grinsell’s warrant was issued for second-degree burglary – 459/460(b) PC, felony vandalism – 594(b)(1) PC, and failure to appear – 1320(b) PC.
Zacarias was transported to the Mendocino County Jail where he is being held on a no-bail status. Grinsell was transported to the Mendocino County Jail where she is being held in lieu of $15,000 bail.”
